Foundation Learning is offered at Entry Level and Level 1, and includes the qualifications at these levels within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
Young people will be offered personalised learning opportunities to help them gain credit at Entry Level and Level 1, starting a learning journey that leads to a range of appropriate destinations such as Level 2 qualifications, supported employment or independent living.

Support the delivery of high-quality learning programmes, which are personalised and appropriate to the learner’s needs and intended destination.
Foundation Learning applies both to 14–19 learners and to adults aged 19 and above.
Learners will be given the opportunity to experience on the job training with qualified and occupationally competent tutors. They will integrate other aspects of the programme into the vocational knowledge such as work ethics English and maths.
Young people on our Foundation Learning programme will have the opportunity to achieve qualifications from AQA in functionalskills: maths, English and ICT as well as personal and social education in units such as personal action planning, drugs education, healthy lifestyle and behaviour in the workplace.
When we have established that the young person is ‘work ready’, we will use one of our committed employers to offer a trade Apprenticeship or full-time employment.
The objective of the Foundation Learning programme is to place young people into employment, Apprenticeships or further education.
Raise offers the opportunity to experience ‘real’ work experience by engaging in community projects with experienced tradespeople.
