SOS Drop-in Centre

drop in SOS

What the SOS programme offers:

Advice & guidance

Impartial and confidential educational, vocational, and personal action planning; advice on where to access opportunities, from employment to leisure, from training to voluntary work; independent point of contact where other service providers can come to offer young people additional support and enable engagement.

Advocacy

A service for any young person who thinks and feels they need representation by an independent adult.

Our unique Drop-in service for 16-21 year olds is a vibrant new information, advice, support, and signposting service that offers young people a safe place to positively interact with other young people, learn, be healthy, happy, and achieve.

SOS will provide young people with the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with volunteer youth support workers and specialist staff, access informal education and training which is AQA and ASDAN accredited, as well as having the chance to become youth mentors in their own right, and contribute to the development and running of the project.

SOS offers a crisis point for young people as well as an advice, learning and leisure centre ALL under one roof.

Community Action

We encourage and promote interaction with projects that benefit the local community and help to break down the barriers which often leave young people feeling disenfranchised from their environment.

Socialising and entertainment

SOS offers 16 – 21 year olds an active hub, open two days a week, featuring a vibrant information and support service and a very active internet, gaming, and music café. We provide hot drinks, subsidised food, and a range of activities which contribute towards their personal development.
